AABSyS Information Technology, a leading GIS, CAD, software and IT outsourcing company in India, attended the sixth edition of Geospatial World Forum-2014 in Geneva, Switzerland.
With technological advancements, and highly interconnected world, leaders from different walks of life are capturing the potential of such smarter systems to achieve economic growth, near-term efficiency, sustainable development and societal progress. The theme of the Forum was “geoSMART Planet: Resources + Infrastructure & YOU!” It addressed the different ways in which geospatial technologies extends the ability to smartly harness spatial data that gives the world leaders their competitive advantage in the era of “SMART” and supports in overcoming the complexity of the challenges that the world is facing. The Geospatial World Forum-2014 was a unique platform for the professionals engaged in geospatial sector and its application domain to interact and network.
The event was attended by almost 1200 delegates and was a confluence of a variety of activities in the form of plenary, technology showcase, symposia, workshops, panel discussions, dialogue and exchange forums – covering the vast gamut of technology, application, policy, use cases from across the world. The event organised interesting line of Plenary that dealt with burning topics like industrialization, use of geospatial technology resource management and infrastructure development. The forum also focused on upcoming technologies such as land information system for smart cities, emerging and disruptive technologies shaping the future, cloud computing, innovative remote sensing and ROI, and collaborative approach fostering global peace and prosperity amongst other things.
The conference explored various innovative and integrative systems supported by geospatial technologies for enabling better and efficient use of resources. It also delved into various services that can support organised development of infrastructure. It was a great opportunity to interact and network with professionals from the geospatial industry.
